My brother and I played a Noise, Drone and Dark Ambient half hour live set called 'Audible Corrosion' on 21st October at STPLN, Malmö, Sweden by invitation by the artist Sleetwalls. I was on modular synth and Philip did live painting while I played. The images on the projector and the second film are all paintings by Philip in his 'Corrosion' series, hence the name of the track 'Audible Corrosion'.

Euroack modules used in my case for the gig:
Two Disting Ex's utilizing the Dream Machine Algorithm that creates drones with just intonation. I managed to get some pseudo arpeggios out of it by modulating two of the numerator parameters with an LFO from Mutable Instruments Peaks to scale through the notes. I also ran a drone from Plaits using the Moog clone from it's farewell firmware. End of chain reverb Happy Nerding FX Aid pro.
The second Disting uses the SD 6 Triggers algorithm with three Volca Kick samples and is triggered by Mutable Instruments Grids for the heavy bassy drumming toward the end of the set.
Soma Lyra8 FX. I manipulated the feedback of the delay to create great sandy swirls of noise. I also ran Mutable Instruments Elements through the delay and distortion to create some harsh string sounds. Elements was played using the Bela Gliss module. End of chain reverb and glitchy voices from Mutable Instruments Clouds.
The guitar was initially run through a Zoom MS-100Bt with amp fuzz simulation and then into the synthesizer through the Expert Sleepers Little Mikey and 2hp Loop. I played a Persian scale for moody atmospherics.
The painting was done using acrylic colours so that it would be able to dry the same evening. A lot of rehearsing was done to be able to paint the abstract image within the time limit. This was first time we tried this out and we've got the bug and will be doing this again in the future! The suggestion of live painting came from Sleetwalls and we're happy we could pull it off and make a success out of it!
